We give my girl sanctuary with her litter box with pet gates that the dogs can’t get in but easy for her to go. Interestingly she loves to make the dogs chase her😂😂😂. Like it’s a game to her that the dogs went after her from time to time.
Snarf & barf can also be because the cat finds the food really good. Every time I bring home the more expensive food, the first few servings, she'll throw up.
Sometimes I think feral cats show up outside your house because they want to be safe and warm and have somewhere to bring their kittens to keep them safe and warm and to hopefully have a forever home and meals that they can count on and just to have someone to love and care for them, but if they're cats who have homes and their humans just let them leave or make them leave, they are just asking for stability, they want what indoor cats have with their humans and those cats don't, it's really heartbreaking to see that 😔😭😿
I can't handle this anymore. After moving, my cat doesn't stop crying every night and when I say that he doesn't stop I mean it, I've 15 days without sleeping more than 5 hours, I made the mistake of bringing othe kitten after watching several videos about this… I used Feliway and other calming products and nothing works. People say that I should let him cry and I try but I think he's suffering
Hi Jackson, Very good points. I have a cat that experienced a lot of territorial stress that started in the summer. He's a neutralized indoor/outdoor cat and was (still is) fighting with another neutralized male cat. So he started spraying around and near the exits. I of course started out with getting him examined at the vet to eliminate anything physical and started him on a supplement that decreased stress and anxiety. Which has helped tremendously and he is feeling much more relaxed. He has always been notorious about only doing his toilet routines outside – he doesn't mind the litterbox if we are not at home (he comes with me at Christmas time every year), but when at home he prefers the big outdoor litterbox. So what is happening now is, that if he for some reason are not allowed to go out for a period of time – schedules to the vet, New Years eve, he will proceed to go straight to where I am and spray on the nearest furniture. This is also happening if something has temporarily occupied some space that he would have liked to use (like my moms PC on a table he sometimes wants to sit on) or if the weather is bad (raining/snowing) and he really doesn't want to go out. I do recognize that this is a manifestation of stress – but as this is very temporary (of course he does not know that) I really don't know how to discourage him from doing this. I have tried playing with him to distract him, but the minute we are done he remembers the no going out and sprays. And often times the behaviour is going on during night times while I'm sleeping and I discover the small puddle the next morning (happens when I have closed the cat flap so he can get in but not out). He is generally a really sweet, social but otherwise independent cat who likes to be around me but not necessarily on me and he likes his space. It is only the two of us and he has a lot of different places to go and hide, go high or otherwise relax. So any good ideas on how to discourage him from the spraying when he feels this kind of "short" stress. As of now I just clean it with a solution to remove odors and otherwise ignores it. Thank you for all the great videos.
Dear cat Daddy 😢 help. hello from England, our cat Toots is nearly 2 years old. A day ago, he started thick drooling – dribbling from his mouth, When I googled this, it suggests that it is stress ? Do you have any suggestions ? 😻🙏💜♥️🧡💙
My cat has suddenly began to follow me around and attack me….I walk near her and she lashes out. And will follow me and lash out….she'll be fine a couple of months, but then for some reason there's like a week where she does that……I've had to lock myself in the bathroom twice…I love her dearly but I'm at my wits end, I don't know what to do anymore. It's breaking my heart.
My cats have access to a litter box that is behind a dog gate so the dog can't get near them…they choose to go outside (beyond the dog door is a cat-proof dog run) where the dog runs out to try to get the freshest of treats 🤦♀️ the cats then run at high speed into the house to escape the threat of the dog eating their butts…but still won't return to the indoor litter which they used to use with no problem 🤷♀️ i think they are adrenaline junkies 😂 That aside, if my cat is stressed because in june his cat friend died, august we got a new kitten, mid November we went away, in December we moved their feeding station and in January we're going away again…how can i help him? I can be more mindful in future but what do i do now? Im taking him to vet tomorrow because I'm concerned its not only stress but i have no idea how to ease his stress until we are back into a reliable routine
I’ve only had my cat for four months and now we are started peeing and biting. I know that other things are caused by stress like him diarrhoea and not eating but how do I know if the pain is and being stressed or if it’s just more of his personality coming out?
We have stray kittens outside an we have been feeding them and sometimes they try to run inside is pooping (not runny) just regular bowl movement is that a sign of territorial stress
Our 6 yo cat, Rey, lost her mom in June…we were all devastated. Thinking I was healing our hearts because of how broken we were, we got a new Kitten. Disaster. After a month, I thought we were going to be okay, but Rey has lost her mind. The stress is so bad that she even sits in her pee and poop. She was hiding then peeing and pooping and finding a new spot. Then she started running and peeing and pooping everywhere. Vet tested her and said it’s behavioral and put her on buspirone (sp?). She found it in every single treat, food, broth, etc. I tried, so I would open her jaw and force it (2x a day). Then she started fearing me and attacking me so I stopped…I didn’t want her hating me too. Bought a huge 3 tier cage and she seemed content but still poops and pees all over it (it’s like she doesn’t know what a litter box is anymore). Now she wants out and I tried to let her but the kitten (who is now 7 months) just wants to attack her and play. Rey is pissed. Then poops and pees all over again. I don’t know what to do. It’s been 5 months of chaos and I’m thinking we might have to attempt to re-home her, though I don’t know how she’d do with that.
Yeah, we have a feral cat who has moved in and all 4 of my cats have decided that they need to mark ALL of my windows. Im trying to get the poor guy so we can get him neutered. He's crafty…
I have a cat who gets stressed out easily. Loud noises are his kryptonite. Like tonight when he was sleeping outside my door I accidentally knocked something off my nightstand and he became very stressed. He will act like we are all a threat, he will attack his sister like he doesn’t recognize her. What can I do to calm the situation and make it less stressful of an event for him.
HELP! My 2yo Norwegian Forest cat that’s had a lower UTI for 3 mths. Started when we were away for a wk. did complete exam w/vet. Results: lower UTI, small bladder, spastic urethra, yes a pee palace. Treating w/gaba pentin, prazosin (for spasms) for a month. He can pee more but won’t use any of the 3 boxes, isolated from his little 1yo brother at night. This past mth he’s back to cuddling w/me (human mum) for tv time, good eating & drinking & occasionally wrestling w/little bro. Minimal improvement of less pain ( not moaning) & can void in under 2 minutes compared to 5 minutes. Do you think we could try some homeopathic remedies, energy healing? Just want to try anything to keep him healthy & how to get rid of the spastic urethra. Appreciate your vids.❤️😻😻
Hi Jackson. I’ve been watching your videos for quite some time and have received a lot of great information on how to take care of my kittens. I recently adopted two of them and have been trying to get more knowledge on various things. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge. Keep up the great work!
My cat was diagnosed with Gastroenteritis 5 day ago. He won’t eat anything..he’s been to the vet 3 times and that’s the only things the vets could find after 2 ultrasounds ~> everything turned up normal, his bloodwork was normal..I’m at my wits end what to do, the vet said to come back in a couple of days if he still hasn’t eaten..I also changed his foods up and he still won’t eat..even tried cerenia and ELURA ( a food stimulant) as prescribed by the vets.~> and he still won’t eat_> suggestions?..
Our cat is stressed, and she is being attacked by every cat in the neighborhood. We have a very big yard, 1800 m2. A lot of cats, wild and domestic. Even the neighbor cat attacks her. When her back is turned she gets ambushed. She is a outdoor cat. Comes inside at 8pm and leaves at 8:30 am. We have a covered veranda, with all the cat trees and beds, she can also get back inside when she wants. This has been going on for the last 3 years. We got a kitten 2 weeks ago and are doing the slow intro. They can eat together but as soon as she is done she walks away. I then close the door and keep the two apart. We really want Tom ( the feline cat) to be happy and hope that Max (the kitten cat) can be her friend and help her to be brave again. Any tips are welcome 🙏🏼
I have posted a lot. Im at my mark. There is nothing I can do anymore. Shes just that cat. She breaks every advice you put out there. Stress, anxiety, fractious, you name it. She doesn’t have a story. I have had her since she was 3 days old. I have watched every video, done every catification, every toy you name it. She is just that cat. The only thing now is that she will sit above my head without killing me. And yup! Guess what? We are moving. But shes been like this since she was about 6 months old. I think she just will be that cat. The one you just love as best you can.
I have a 4 Month old kitten. Introduced a new 3 month old rescue kitten who is very spicy and hisses and bites. I’m following all of your suggestions but my older kitten has soft stools now and burping. She’s trying to touch the new kitten but the new kitten is still spicy. So I separate them. But my older kitten cries because she wants to be with her. I feel so awful as she’s not herself.
my cat had cystitis and now does not want to poop or wee as much, she held her poop in for 6 days and had to be cleaned out, the vet says nothing physical probably stress, what can i do to make her go the toilet, we are desperate for help and we are getting ill from the stress of it ourselves
i’m so upset cause i think i might have to surrender 1 or 2 of my cats😢😢 they all get along but i’m pregnant rn and have so much stress going on and i have to move soon and 1 of my cats has been showing signs of stress and separation anxiety but i just don’t have enough time to play out all 3 of my cats:( she keeps meowing and calling for me from 3-6am, also my neighbours have 2 cats that go inside and outside. there’s so many different factors and i can’t fix all of them rn but i feel she deserves to live a stress free and happy life😭😭😭😭😭
My parents' coon cat gets real vocal whenever anything unusual comes through the back yard. He really started caterwauling when a black bear decided to raid the bird feeder.
My mom decided to replace one of the litterboxes quite suddenly. Old one in the bin, new one in its place, fresh litter and all. I did try to warn her… Cue lots of pee in her bedroom. We moved one of the boxes into her closet and made sure the older cat got dibs after we cleaned it, so it would definitely have her stank and not the young rascal's. Fixed it right up.
How about i had to bring my brother and his cat to my 2 bedroom apartment. My cat is throwing up 3-4 times a day/night. Went to vet n just hairballs. So I decided to separate him from other cat. He had the run of the place now he is on bedroom n hides under chair in tub. He tries to get door open to go into living room. How can we help him?
I have one deaf cat. She's around a year old. She has two litter boxes. One has more litter, the other has less just to see if she prefers one over another but I feel like she uses both equally. The litter hasn't changed. It's not scented. I try my best to clean it regularly. She has access to one window. She can also see through big glass doors. She also has access to a sunroom which is connected to the glass doors. Only a few times a day as it's made from plastic and it gets hot there so I do not let her be in the whole day. She has multiple toys. She used to play fetch or we chase each other. We also play with "fishing rod" for cats with feathers. She's slim and I'd say she gets enough exercise. I feed her 3 times a day smaller portions and I try to keep a schedule. She also has anti-stress collar which seemed to help her at least a bit with her anxiety and stress. I have a partner and they had been coming over regularly every week for almost a year now. The only change in the household is our new wardrobe which we've had since April 8th. She climbs on the wardrobe, she sleeps on it, we play on it. Same with the bed. We play on the bed, she occasionally sleeps there with me and/or my partner. But For the last few weeks she has been peeing in our bed and it's exhausting. I tried to encourage and give her treats when she uses the litterbox. I feel like her peeing on the bed is so random. Last time she peed on the bed was saturday 3rd. After that I had been keeping a close eye on her and she hadn't peed the bed until today. And she did 2 times. It makes me so frustrated I don't know what else I can do for her so she stops peeing in the bed. I don't want to put plastic over the bed everytime I'm not in it. We had been to the vet.
after I started going back to work after lockdowns, each day I got home my cat would act like I was the king returning from a crusade xD She still does it a bit but she can be calmed by my housemate with some play in the hours before I usually get home.
My cat is an indoor at night/outdoor by day cat. His choice, we have multble cat doors. About 4 times a year we leave for long weekend mini vacation trips, no more than three nights. How do I take care of his needs. Feeding is easy, neighbor comes by twice a day. But is my cat feeling abandoned and what can I do about that.
Hey Jackson, my cat has been a bit skittish since we got her and her brother from the shelter at 6 months old. She's not territorial, she'd rather hide (and she does at the drop of a pin but she's getting better!), but she does snarf and barf and more importantly, she over-grooms/chews herself to having sores/bald patches. We took her to the vet when we first noticed the sores and they said it could have been A SINGULAR flea. We are getting a new vet. She has no fleas, she and her brother are indoor cats. But the chewing is starting to worry me, she does the displacement thing where she stops and chews at herself. I think she just might be anxious natured? Is there anything I can do?
My 3 year old 18 lb adopted cat lived in small cage for the first year of her life and I imagine this is y she is VERY cautious anxious cat. She’s only pet but is so scared of ANYTHINg we move n noises. She just started peeing on random clothes. Vet says nothing wrong with her. I won’t bring her back to shelter bc she’s already emotionally troubled. What do I do now??
My cat over grooms her belly and in between her shoulder blade to the point of bloody welts and infection 😢. Taking her in to get an allergy test and ask for meds to treat her stress. I’m also Slowly switching her to a raw food diet. She’s now on prescription food for food allergies, but that ain’t stopping the behavior.
We give my girl sanctuary with her litter box with pet gates that the dogs can’t get in but easy for her to go. Interestingly she loves to make the dogs chase her😂😂😂. Like it’s a game to her that the dogs went after her from time to time.

Thank you Jackson for all the great tips. We love our Fur babies.
Also when a Cat bites at their fur and they have bare spots on their body, it could be due to them having fleas.
Thank you Cat Daddy…helps so much…💕

What about stress cats go through when they go through a loss? I just had a kitty pass away, and i notice my cats notice. How do i help them cope?
When I first got my kitten, she was experiencing a lot of stress on the long drive home! She was “over grooming” hellaciously!!
Good to know!
