As someone with severe anxiety who has tried CBD in many forms i don't think it actively battles anxiety. What i think is that you feel an effect that feels somewhat calming and that in itself is reassuring enough to help deal with anxiety mentally. I don't believe the actual effect is anti anxiety more than having a nice cup of tea. Also most people take tiny dosages like using 2-3 drops of 10% CBD oil which is definitely not enough to medicate anything.
I have general anxiety. I randomly take Xanax when needed. I’ve been taking CBD for a little over a week. I feel a lot better. I feel the anxiety but it’s low level and I can shrug it off. My brain feels more balanced on it. Just today I felt anxious. Usually I’d be breathing around escalating tension and a very uneasy mind. Usually if I can’t shake it I’ll take .25 Xanax and wait 20 minutes. Didn’t have to do that today or all week. I don’t think it’s a placebo effect. If you have anxiety or have had anxiety attacks, there’s no fooling yourself out of symptoms. It appears to be doing a great job at taking the edge off which allows you to deploy the controlled breathing and positive self talk that allows you to shrug off the anxiety. I’m hopeful. I hope it works for you as well.
I need 150mgs+ a dose for anxiety releave way to expensive for me starts to work at 75mgs far far in the background so idk if its me But the usual 5-15mgs a dose than i can also just dring a few drops of water
I work in the cannabis industry where it's legal in Canada, the philosophy is go slow, start low. http://www.leafly.ca would be a good place to research about CBD and THC.
Thank you, Doctor. Excuse me. Are there nutritional supplements that have the same effect as the anticonvulsant primidone (Mysoline)?Because I suffer from essential tremor disease. The doctor prescribed me the anticonvulsant primidone. It was a very effective treatment, and the tremor completely disappeared..but it contains side effects.Does CBD oil help with tremor
I have struggled with mental illness and my mental health since I was a kid. Before I even knew what those terms were. After years of depression, anxiety, and even an attempt to take my life, I never thought I would be able to live without psych medications. I clung to them because it was the only thing that made my mind quiet, but it also made me a zombie. Microdosing has given me control of my mental health for the first time, and they essentially gave me my life back.
2:1 edibles cbd 10mg and thc 5mg . I take half when I feel like it, then another half later on. No anxiety. I wanted to be completely sober, but that just isn't feasible in today's modern world. Going to work everyday instead of driving to California is quite a chore.
I have basically self medicating myself with cbd for a while. Have never had any issues and it has only helped me actually feel less anxious. I have been struggling with an anxiety disorder my whole life. And since starting the usage of cbd, it has gotten so much better. Helping me to to develop other tools for calming myself down too. I am not a scientist, but my self induced research shows only positive effects, no side effects, no addiction, and pretty safe usage. Also I only take 5mg as one dosage at a time, if taken orally. If used as a nasal spray for example, the biodiversity is bigger, therefor I only take 1 mg per spray. Basically I am trying to say, that I take it when I feel like I need it. And do not necessarily just take 300mg through the day or something like that. Although that is also possible I guess.
I am not doctor, do not take this as any kind of medical advice. Just sharing my experiences:)
THC and CBD are the only reason I was able to get on top of my mental health.
Got sick of “withdrawal effects” like you explained from drugs like Valium, Xanax but never experienced it with THC. Cannabis is an absolute game changer.
Speaking from personal experience with SSRIs and Seroquel, these medications can also have you feel extremely tired and drugged – yet the anxiety is still there!
I worked in the Cannabis industry for a little over 4 years educating people on cannabis, Cannabis itself isn't addictive, and THC isn't what makes you feel a certain way after using it. THC operates as more of an intoxicant while other things such as Terpenes are responsible for potential medicinal benefits. Cannabis and CBD aren't a save-all solution for things like anxiety and PTSD, however they are a great replacement/substitute for harsher and more addictive medications. Humans also all have our own endo-cannbinoid system in which every person has traits that are exclusive to them, hence why we could for example stand in a room with 5 people and all smoke the exact same thing and all of us would potentially feel slightly different effects based off the internal preferences of our endo-cannabinoid system.
Do we really need medical evidence that cbd works? Take some, if you dont feel anything take more. If you dont feel anything take more up to like a couple hundred milligrams. If you dont feel anything…it doesnt work for you. If you do feel something……its working
It gave me good sleep and improved my metabolism overall, I felt healthy overall and I could take care of my anxiety better .also you need to take the dosage right . doctor told me to stop it after a month so my symptoms are back again..
This is one of my favorite channels. Very well explained medical knowledge with the addition of the ASMR effect. I also follow Titanium Geek. If you are ever in Chicago, I'd be honored to ride the longest lake shore bike trail in the world with you!
I smoke cannabis regularly so my tolerance for CBD is much higher. Thus I need more to feel any benefit. But when I do find a benefit and feel it, im relieved for sure.
Hey Dr Gill! Could you make a small video talking about CBD and it's effects in parkinson patients? A family member is going through it right now, and many people suggested that CBD oil could help to manage the symptoms, since we are not very sure about it, would be helpful and also interesting! Hope this comment reaches you! Regards.
CBD actually helps me focus, and makes me feel "physically" lighter. It doesn't affect my thoughts but relieves the heavy weight in my chest. Most of the time, it's enough. But I still have Atarax for anxiety, and Xanax for panic attacks. Of course it's only one at a time, and as rarely as possible. The point is, CBD and Atarax have very different effects on me, so even tough my doctor prescribes me Atarax, I will still prefer CBD because it's lighter and doesn't make me sleepy. Plus it helps with hyperphagia.
Dr Gill, does your research include any studies made by other cultures or in other languages? I’m curious about all the studies made around the world since Cannabis has been around for quite a long time. Also, great video and very informative! Keep it up 😊
Dr Gill – I've applied to graduate medicine twice and I've been unsuccessful on both occasions. The thing that's holding me back is the UCAT, and I wanted your view on it as a tool for assessing the quality of applicants to medical school. It strikes me the main challenge is not just 'time management', but *speed *. What if there are many applicants – possibly like myself – who are prevented from going to medical school simply because they lack the mental alacrity the test requires. In other respects, I've done everything possible to make a good application (worked as an HCA for months, attained two degrees at 1:1). Help, basically.
I have been using cbd for a while and I have noticed a huge difference in how I respond to my daily levels of stress and I started at a low doseage and got myself to a level that I feel is right for me
I tried CBD to treat my anxiety and did not notice that much of a difference only in the instance of being more sleepy. I did eventually turn to medication which did help calm me down. I suppose maybe it varies from person to person but it did not work for me. Thank you as always for your insight and work Dr. Gill.
Would this help with my cervical degenerative disc disease and my arm? I have terrible pain most days due to my neck. I was rx'd Gabepentin, but i wont take it, for the side effects, and i do suffer from anxiety and a little anger. And diabetic, could it help this too? Thank you in advance for your input, Dr. Gill. 😊
Sending this video to my mom in the hope that she'll consider CBD for her rheumatoid arthritis and sleeping issues. It's so hard to convince her to try it – both my siblings are stoners so she's decided marijuana is the absolute worst substance in the world 😬
I tried CBD for PTSD. I used it under the tongue and vaping*. It didn't make any significant difference for me, but at least it didn't make me sleepy or mess with my sleep schedule like other anti anxiety meds. I feel like it could be a useful first port of call to see if it is beneficial if things become more conclusive study wise as to benefits and risks
(*I only bought the vape for cbd, got rid of it once i felt no benefit)
As a lifelong sufferer of anxiety from undiagnosed sensory and auditory processing disorders and OCD I really appreciated this video! While my anxiety probably isn’t caused by those because both my brother and sister also have anxiety as well as my dad they definitely exacerbated it for sure.
Recently I’ve been thinking about therapy for my anxiety because of its impacts on me at work and my lack of seeking treatment for it thus far in my life but I’ve been hesitant about medication because of addiction running in my mom’s side of the family and because of my SPD’s effects on my body causing problems with pills. Great video!
CBD does not eleviate my anxiety or stress but it just removes the physical symptoms I get from anxiety such as heart palpitations. Doesn't actually help the real issue. I smoked weed (thc) for years and it started to make me really sick. I couldnt eat, was nauseous and lost heaps of weight quickly. My naturopath suspected an endo cannabi oid imbalance so I switched to CBD for a while so I could deal with the withdrawal (increased anxiety) after quitting weed. Now I don't do either but still have anxiety lol

Can i use this with ativan and amitriptyline

can get hooked on weed

Thanks for this, good to hear about an evidence base (or lack thereof) to supplement recommendations from my GP.
Tip though, someone needs to proof read the graphics – several spelling mistakes that really detract from credibility… Also the audio is a bit quiet.

15 minutes in gold.

The fact this video is sponsored gives me anxiety.
The THC gives me panic attacks

Is this for hemp derived? Or marijuana derived?

Gill likes the comments regarding faliures with cbd not sucsess storys what does that tell you
Thc does relive anxiety certain strains improve the condition others make it worse

Is as adictive as nicotine or alcohol. Either all of them are problematic for anxiety or none

THC and CBD combined seems to be the ticket personally! You can definitely have too much of a good thing however 😅
To be fair I haven't tried concentrated CBD oils personally so I can't say I've compared apples with apples.

What’s your thoughts on statins?
Hang on Dr Gill, THC is not addictive.
