Someone suggested we see if CBD oil would decrease Ginger and Uli's fighting, so we gave them CBD oil for three days, and each day Ginger and Uli's aggression pattern was the same as usual. What was different was the cats were more sleepy. Have you tried CBD oil or other pot-derived products for you or your pets? : ) ๐๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐
You can use Bach flower remedies (non-alcholic version) to treat agression and stress in cats. CBD is good for arthritis or cancer in cats to deal with aches and pains.
Sigh.. I'm looking into cbd because our newest addition..a stray female is aggressive. She's been here a month and the aggression gets worse. I've tried rescue remedy and also Feliway diffuser and collars. ZERO change. My 2 house cats are 8 yrs old and don't have a mean bone but try to defend themselves.
Honestly I think there will always be some fighting with them- it's like with kids and it's part of interaction. Most of the time we'll see them fighting in a moment and cuddling moments after as if nothing had happened. But if they draw blood and are really serious about it, then something needs to be . Like asking for the advice of an expert. But if that's not the case, I think interfering too much might make things worse. Those little fight moments will make that they both learn limits and learn to respect one another. Then many cuddling together will come , right Uli and Ginger? ๐๐ป๐ป๐๐๐
Unfortunately it appears the CBD oil didn't help much in this particular case. That's not to say it's not helpful in many situations, but obviously not all. It may be just that as a formerly feral cat, Ginger ๐still has the natural instincts to fight for every little thing. There is a product called Rescue Remedy that is for anxiety in cats ๐โโฌ๐ they might be more useful, but again, perhaps Ginger is just following her instincts and only time will slowly change her. I wish you all the best! Have a great weekend! ๐๐๐Willie says hello! ๐๐โโฌ๐พ๐พ
There is a thing called "feliway" that is suppose to help cats in stressfull situations. I got one when Mysli moved in, but to be honest I saw no difference. I'm not recomending it by any means, but you might want to look what it is and could that be any help for you.
10 years in and my Squeek still growls at the others, especially in hallways. I've trained them to all move when I snap my fingers. It's not a cure but there's no additional aggression. Took years to get them to move without me getting up (back issues). I don't have any answers for you, you know your cats best and will do what's best for them ๐
It seems the CBD oil wasn't to successful. I notice in the pet shops and vets they have alternative calming medications for cats and dogs. I think Ms Ginger still has a lot of wild girl in her and may take a long time to settle into inside home life. Hope you find something that works or helps with them.๐พ๐๐พ
This all looks so familiar!! And I was already afraid the CBD oil wouldn't help… Ginger is basically following her instinct, which is to secure her own safety & resources by chasing away her competitor. The oil might make them a bit more mellow but doesn't take away the root of the problem. Guess the best would be to keep them separated or/and increase their living space, as far as that is possible of course. Also important to know this situation is no one's fault. Wishing you all the best!!โค
๐ฑ๐๐บ๐พ Ooooh ! A new remedy for me to know about. The answer my friends โIs blowing in the windโ ๐ฌ๐ Never pessimistic, but once a stray , usually a Fighter ! Hmm " I have No confidence in it due to fact my son has anxiety and other issues and was told it would help him CBD but to be outright honest with you it has made him feel worse, but of. Course he is a human he doesn't want to take pills or anything for it but trying CBD was Not the answer,, these two here each want to be the boss and they get in each other's space so the war is on Ginger says look buddy your on my turf and Uli says watch yourself girly this is my turf my home first you can't boss me and the fight is on hahahaha lol just like brother and sister sibling rivalry it goes on but there is still hope cause brothers and sisters eventually love each other and you can't take away their bond but in the meantime good luck looks like Ginger is going to be a mean sister, poor Uli go find your Kwazi he will make you feel better can't split up the Bromancers lol we love you all ๐โโฌ๐๐โโฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
