BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton physician is accused of initiating an inappropriate relationship with his patient after years of allegedly prescribing heavy drugs and eventually Marijuana to the woman. Robert Schneider, D.O., is now facing a medical malpractice suit filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.
We note this is a civil suit. There are no criminal charges against Dr. Schneider. The following is from the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com. We are publishing the complete complaint at the end of this article.
”Plaintiff identifies herself by a pseudonym because in this matter, which involves non-consensual, inappropriate, abusive, and sexual conduct toward Plaintiff, Plaintiff will be required to disclose information of the utmost intimacy and may be further damaged if her identity were publicly known and available.
At all times material hereto, Defendant, ROBERT WILLIAM SCHNEIDER, DO, provided services to patients in Boca Raton, FL. At all times material hereto, Defendant, IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA, LLC F/K/A INTERNAL MEDICINE ASSOCIATES, P. A. AND/OR INTERNAL MEDICINE
ASSOCIATES SNF, LLC (hereinafter “IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA”) was a provider of Internal Medicine services that employs multiple licensed physicians including ROBERT WILLIAM SCHNEIDER, DO. At all times material hereto, Defendant, IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA maintained a location for providing medical services in Boca Raton, FL. The physicians of IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA include physicians who are Board Certified in Internal Medicine and several who are not Board Certified in any specialty. ROBERT WILLIAM SCHNEIDER, DO holds no Board Certification.
On October 4, 2013, Plaintiff JANE DOE was evaluated by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO at IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA. Defendant Dr. Schneider indicated Plaintiff JANE DOE suffered from Cervicalgia, Cervical Abnormality and Eclampsia. Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO prescribed Tylenol with Codeine and Zofran.
On September 2, 2014, Plaintiff JANE DOE returned to IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA and was again seen by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO. At this visit, Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO renewed his prior impressions, adding anxiety as a diagnosis.
Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO then prescribed Xanax to Plaintiff.
On October 26, 2015, Plaintiff JANE DOE was evaluated by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO at IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA. Dr. Schneider renewed his prior diagnosis and continued to prescribe Tylenol with Codeine, Zofran, and Xanax to Plaintiff.
On August 18, 2016 and November 14, 2016, Plaintiff JANE DOE returned to IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA to be evaluated by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO. Dr. Schneider renewed his prior diagnosis and continued to prescribe Tylenol with Codeine, Zofran, and Xanax to Plaintiff, however also added Klonopin as a prescribed medication.
On later visits in 2017, 2018 and 2019, Plaintiff JANE DOE returned to IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA to be evaluated by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO. Dr. Schneider renewed his prior diagnosis and continued to prescribe Tylenol with Codeine, Zofran, Xanax, and Klonopin to Plaintiff. In December of 2018, Plaintiff JANE DOE returned to IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA to be evaluated by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO. Dr. Schneider “prescribed” medical marijuana in addition to the Narcotic Opioid medications and benzodiazepines Dr. Schneider had previously been prescribing.
Plaintiff JANE DOE was given shots containing Toradol and a Steroid during multiple non-documented office visits to IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO.
Plaintiff JANE DOE was given shots containing Toradol and a Steroid during multiple non-documented office visits to IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA by Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO. Neither the “prescription” for medical marijuana nor the pain related shots of Toradol and/or Steroids were documented or notated within Plaintiff JANE DOE’s medical records. In February 2019, Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO initiated sexual contact with his patient, Plaintiff JANE DOE. Plaintiff JANE DOE remained a patient of IMA OF SOUTH FLORIDA as Defendant ROBERT SCHNEIDER, DO continued his inappropriate and unethical sexual conduct toward his patient, Plaintiff JANE DOE.”
