HAWTHORNE, Nev. (KOLO) -The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday it arrested a Texas woman who had 298 pounds of marijuana in the car she was driving.
Deputies stopped a Chrysler Pacifica on U.S. 95 about 10 miles south of Hawthorne at about 8:23 p.m.
Deputies called in canine Rex and Rex indicated there were drugs in the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
A search turned up 298 pounds of marijuana concealed in six black duffle bags, the sheriff’s office said. The sheriff’s office calculated the street value at $1.2 million.
Deputies arrested Tatiana Maria Ruiz, 28, of Houston on charges of marijuana trafficking, illegally having the credit card of someone else and speeding.
