FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two men have been charged after officers found marijuana following a traffic stop and home search in Fairmont.
On Feb. 4, officers with the Clarksburg Police Department were conducting surveillance of Rhea Terrace due to a “prior complaint of drug activity” and “having previously observed high pedestrian and vehicular traffic,” according to the complaint.
During that time, officers observed an individual leave in a vehicle and later performed a traffic stop on the Fairmont Gateway Connector after officers observed the driver “cross left of center several times and was braking erratically,” officers said.
Officers then made contact with the vehicle’s driver, identified as Brian Shackleford, 22, of Bridgeport, who “admitted to having drugs,” which amounted to 4.13 ounces of marijuana, 0.87 grams of cocaine, a Glock 19 handgun and $180 in U.S. currency, according to the complaint.
During the conversation with officers, Shackleford admitted he came from the residence on Rhea Terrace; a search of that residence was then performed and officers located Aaron Harris, 20, of Fairmont, officers said.
Upon a search of the residence on Rhea Terrace, officers located 11.5 ounces of marijuana, an Amadeo Rossi .38 special revolver and $861 in U.S. currency, and officers determined that Harris “has large amounts of marijuana delivered to his residence,” and that he “sold part of his supply” to Shackleford on that same date, according to the complaint.
Shackleford and Harris have been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana. They are being held in North Central Regional Jail.
